Without much notice changes happened to Adventureland.  The main reason given for this was to loosen up traffic congestion several stores were effected.

The Changes included:

The Tropical Imports shop right in front of the Jungle Cruise which had mainly been a fruit stand /slash rubber snakes store is now Stroller Parking.  This was one of the big causes of traffic in Adventureland as strollers flooded out in the walkway

The biggest changes were turning The Indiana Jones outpost and South Sea Traders stores into indoor seating for the Bengal Barbeque.

Here are some pictures from the new seating area.

This change pretty much seemed to happen overnight.   The additional indoor seating for Bengal Barbeque was a great idea.   Time will tell if this changes will make the traffic jam problems go away in Adventureland.   Here are some of the decorations in the new indoor seating area.

I’m so glad my favorite sign from the Tropical Imports found a new home

A few merchandise items from both stores were moved in the Adventureland Bazaar.

The interesting thing to me about these changes is that Disney basically gave up 2 stores worth of Merchandise for seating for a takeout restaurant that has been there for a long time.   The traffic and stroller issue must have really been an issue with current management to give up retail space.  I also find it weird that they would give up the Indiana Jones store  –since a new Indiana Jones movie is in the works and the ride remains one of the parks most popular Attractions.
